Tank Takeover is a hectic four-player game inspired by 1980’s tank arena games. Players start with two tanks and control one at a time to fire bouncing bullets at enemy tanks. Successfull hits will win the ownership of the tank, hitting your own tank results in losing ownership. Switch between tanks you own, take all tanks available in the field to win.
The game was made part of a student effort, the game had to be pitched, greenlit, prototyped and developed across an initial ten working days. The project scored a 9/10 and received two awards for the college competition: Best design & best game. It was subsequently improved upon and submitted for the Indigo Roadshow to be showcased at Gamescom 2013. Tank Takeover was made in Unity with all-modular components to allow for quick iteration time on level designs. Additional game modes were created, removing shields, disabling bullet bounces and removing back-up tanks to make for more varied and exciting games. |
